Sentenced

Kurt Angle has been sentenced, stemming from his March arrest for reckless driving.

Kurt has been sentenced to a chemical dependency evaluation, around five hundred dollars in fines, and a year of unsupervised probation. A ten day jail sentence was suspended.

This is not the first time that Kurt has been in trouble; previously he has been arrested and accused of drunk driving -- he was acquitted, even though he failed a sobriety test at his home.

Kurt was also arrested, accused of harassing his then-girlfriend, former TNA Knockout Rhaka Khan. The charges were later dropped.

Hopefully, this gives Kurt the help that he obviously needs.

PS. Kurt, we love you, but shut up on the whole move debate. You're just driving us nuts.

Angle Pleads Guilty

My brain imploded reading this.

On Friday, TNA Wrestler Kurt Angle pleaded guilty to reckless driving, stemming from his arrest last month when he was found in the middle of the meridian.

The actual punishment could range anywhere from a $475 fine to a 10 day suspended prison sentence and a chemical dependency evaluation. I think he needs that more than anything.

Prior to this, Kurt was acquitted on drunk driving charges in 2009, and was arrested for harassment, stemming from accusations of stalking his ex-girlfriend, former TNA Knockout Rhaka Khan. Police found growth hormone and other things in the car.

Whatever is going on with Kurt Angle, I hope he gets the help he needs. And for the sake of his three children, I hope he has learned his lesson from this.

It Wasn't Me!

This isn't really the biggest news, but it's definitely an interesting topic that I would like to touch down on a little bit.

For those who don't know, last night a series of tweets coming from Kurt Angle's Twitter account (which you can follow at AngleFoods1) depicted Kurt angered by Randy Orton and Jack Swagger using the Angle Slam and the Ankle Lock respectively. Randy Orton (who you can follow at RandyOrton) took to his Twitter to fire back in his defense. This morning, Kurt Angle claimed that his Twitter account was hacked and that he did not feel that way.

CM Punk (who you can follow at CMPunk), the opinionated, outspoken Superstar that he is, recently tweeted "'My Twitter account was hacked' is the new 'I'm a drunk sloppy douche'". Obviously he doesn't buy this either.

A lot of fans are thinking Kurt was drunk tweeting last night thanks in large part to his recent DUI arrest. I think that Kurt was a little bit out of line to complain about the moves being used, as the Angle Slam was only used as a transitional move, and Ken Shamrock was the first WWE guy to use the Ankle Lock. Whether or not he was still wrestling at the time is not the issue; the fact is it's not Kurt's move.

CM Punk makes a very, very fair assessment here, albeit with acerbic humor. Whenever something seems to happen, when somebody tweets something that makes them look bad, it wasn't them. They were hacked. This happened a few months ago with TNA personality Jeremy Borash. A private message was sent to a TNA fan from Borash's account telling him that he hoped his whole family died. Borash claimed that he was hacked, although that was the only message that was sent. His mainstream tweets were uncompromised, it was just this one message.

The point is, if somebody is going to air their grievances on Twitter, stand behind it. Don't point the finger and cry "Hacker". After a while, people just quit believing it.

Claiming He Was Hacked

Hot on the heels on whining about WWE Superstars using his moves and trending on Twitter, Kurt Angle is claiming that somebody hacked his Twitter account. He claims he barely uses it, which, anybody who follows him knows, he's always tweeting about his Angle Foods business and taking time to answer to whatever road bump he's bumped into.

I personally don't buy this. Hackers aren't normally that consistent. I think perhaps a lot of people called him out for whining about it. Randy Orton did a decent job stating his opinion, and as a third generation Superstar, I'm sure Randy has enough knowledge to understand who got what from who.

Everybody claims that they got hacked when people post stuff on Twitter that is less than flattering to them and makes them look bad. It doesn't necessarily make it so. And really? Somebody hacked his Twitter to whine about WWE guys using moves? Maybe somebody was drunk tweeting and regretted it in the morning. Good grief.

Lighten Up!

Somebody was a little bitter last night.

Everyone knows by now that Kurt Angle was none too pleased to watch WrestleMania 27 and see Randy Orton Angle Slam CM Punk. He certainly wasn't too happy to see the Ankle Lock being used as well.

After posting a series of tweets (which you can follow him on Twitter at AngleFoods1), Randy Orton (which you can follow him on Twitter at RandyOrton) fired back, stating outright that Angle did not invent the Ankle Lock, as Ken Shamrock used it as his finisher before Kurt ever showed up in a professional wrestling ring. He also made a point that instead of being offended, Kurt should be flattered that people would do his moves as a show of respect to him.

I agree with Orton here. See, it would be a different story if Kurt was still in WWE, but he's not. I doubt Kurt is the guy who invented the Angle Slam, and I know for a fact Kurt was not the first in professional wrestling to use the ankle lock.

I like Kurt. Always have. He's a phenomenal talent. And, unfortunately at the moment he seems to have hit a road bump again in his life. But he really, really needs to lighten up.

Additional Info on Angle Arrest

EWrestlingNews.Com is reporting a little bit more information on the arrest of TNA Superstar Kurt Angle for being in possession of a motor vehicle while intoxicated. They are citing an article that was posted in The Grand Forks Herald.

News reports are stating that there was no ice storm on Thursday or Friday in Grand Forks, North Dakota and that the highways were actually clear, which would completely contradict Kurt's statements that he slid into 3 ft of snow during an ice storm. Also, they are reporting that it wasn't Kurt that called the police, but in fact a passer-by.

It should also be noted that despite the fact that he failed a field sobriety test and it is in the police report, Kurt claims that he was not at all intoxicated.

Patrol Capt. Kevin Robson stated that Kurt was very polite and a complete gentleman the entire time, which is good to hear. Angle posted 300 dollars and gave authorities a Pennsylvania driver's license before being released.

I should also note that reports are saying that Kurt did not appear out of the ordinary at all during the TNA house show that he had competed at earlier on.

Arrested

TMZ reported yesterday that Kurt Angle was arrested in Grand Forks, North Dakota, after police officers found him in the road. According to the celebrity news site, one of the officers smelled alcohol on Angle's breath and administered a field sobriety test, which he apparently failed. He was then taken into custody. Because the officers did not see Angle driving drunk, they charged him with being in possession of a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Kurt responded to these allegations via his Twitter, which you can follow at AngleFoods1:

"Thank U to all of my supporters. I was not drunk. I was in an ice storm

and slid into 3 ft of snow median. I called police 4 help. They had other plans.

I was stuck and wanted to go back to my hotel. I was not passed out drunk.

I was co-herent. I'm sorry if I let you down. Don't believe everything you read.

My life is good and this is a speed bump in the road. The truth will come out.

God bless. I take responsibility for this. My job is to stay clean and never put myself in jeopardy. TMZ blew it out of proportion. After my hearings, I will give you

proper story. God bless. Kurt Angle. I love you all."

I just want to go out on the record and report that TMZ didn't really blow anything out of proportion, or even sensationalize it. This is also not the first time that Kurt has been accused of being behind the wheel while intoxicated; he was acquitted on charges about a year or two ago even though he had failed a sobriety test that was administered to him at his home.

Hopefully, between this and Jeff Hardy, that TNA will wake up a little bit and start doing more to help out their guys. This is alarming, especially for those who are fans of Kurt Angle.

TNA's Resident Movie Star

Towards the end of his biography It's True, It's True, Kurt Angle confessed to taking some acting classes in hopes of one day being able to do some movies. Fast forward about ten years later, and Kurt has already got a small string of independent films behind him. You can follow Kurt Angle on Twitter at his address anglefoods1.

I've already reviewed End Game. River of Darkness is waiting for me. And now, Kurt Angle has announced via his Twitter account that one of his latest movies, Dylan Dog, which has been covered on bloody-disgusting.com multiple times, is going to see a release in theaters this coming April 29th. According to Wikipedia and other sources, Kurt Angle is set to play Wolfgang in this movie that is an adaptation of an Italian comic about a nightmare investigator that is set in London, England.

As well, Kurt has also announced that his film Warrior, will be released September 7th. Both films were filmed a while back. In Warrior, he is slated to play an undefeated MMA fighter from Russia by the name of Koba. Warrior is also rumored to feature Nick Nolte. As well, he also has the movie Beyond The Mat, which you can apparently find the trailer for on YouTube.

I say great for Kurt to expand his horizons outside of wrestling. I'm only praying that these movies aren't as horrible as his turn as a serial killer/rapist in End Game.

Movie Review: End Game

Hello, ladies and gentlemen,

for my first post today, I thought that I would tackle something kind of brutal that I just got to watch. Starring TNA Superstar Kurt Angle and former TNA Knockout and Survivor: Amazon winner Jenna Morasca, I bring you...End Game.

Let's get one thing straight here: this poster is very, very misleading. When I looked at this photo pictured here, I honest to God thought we had a cat-and-mouse game starring Kurt Angle and Morasca as our heroes, and potentially as lovers. While the latter is true (thank God we don't see that), the former couldn't be further from the truth.

Kurt plays Brad Mayfield/Alex Minert (why the Mayfield thing even comes into play is beyond me), a psychotic rapist/murderer who is being hunted by the complete idiot that is police detective Dan Burke. I kid you not; www.thewrestlingfan.com's review of this movie says it best: "How in the hell can somebody be so smart yet so stupid?"

The film opens on a rainy night at a seedy hotel where Kurt Angle is about to claim a victim. Quite frankly, the opening scene was so awkward to me, I had to get up and leave. I don't know how anybody else feels about our Olympic hero, but I could definitely live without the image of him having intercourse. Just a bit too awkward for me. Anyway, during these opening moments, he kills his first victim, who is later described as Beatrice Fraser.

This movie is horrible. Catherine Perez of thewrestlingfan.com calls it a "21st century Suburban

Commando, but with less commando and more rapist/murdering". Frankly, I think she's being way too generous; Suburban Commando is entertaining because of the camp value. Any camp value that's taken out of this movie is based on the film's shortcomings, which include a complete disregard for continuity (example: in one scene, Detective Burke wakes up after having a nightmare -- at night -- to receive a phone call from Kurt, who is sitting in broad daylight on a boat), horrendous disguises that Stevie Wonder could have seen through, scenes that don't really need to be in there (like Kurt urinating in a cramped hotel bathroom), and the most wooden acting this side of Keanu Reeves and Kristen Stewart.

Don't get me wrong; I wasn't expecting to see something like American Beauty when I watched this film. In fact, thewrestlingfan.com's summary of the film was so hilarious that I went and got my hands on it. But I didn't find it as entertaining as they made it. I will say that the funeral for Beatrice Fraser is probably the biggest highlight of the movie...that and Kurt Angle dressed up as Buffo the Tuffo clown (pictured below).

Anyway, despite a few entertaining bits of entertainment during the movie (all for the wrong reasons, I assure you), I really feel like this movie was an experiment in failure by North Shore Pictures (which Angle is the 30% owner of). As much as they tried to make Kurt Angle into a creeper, or into somebody who is one step ahead of the police, the way the film is written makes it seem like everyone is just dumb.

If you're a huge Kurt Angle fan and you absolutely just have to see this, I'd say check it out. But the most important thing that I can tell you is not to expect anything even WWE-Films caliber. Find humor in it and go with it, because there isn't really anything else that stands out in this movie.
