And Cena Gets His Wish

Mark your calendars, ladies and gentlemen: WrestleMania 28 has a huge main event slotted in Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's home state of Florida.

After three years, John Cena has finally received his wish and we will be receiving our dream match of John Cena vs. The Rock at WrestleMania 28 on April 1, 2012. Fans rejoice!

Mission Accomplished!

WWE got some mainstream press that they were looking for as a result of using Jersey Shore cast member Snooki at WrestleMania 27 last night in Georgia.

Snooki was hardly in the six person tag match, which was thankfully short and sweet, though I do believe that seven-time Women's Champion Trish Stratus deserved way better for her return.

Snooki was impressive when she hit her first move; a handspring backsplash on Michelle McCool. Her second move, a cartwheel into a splash, looked a bit sloppy and botched. But she picked up the win over Michelle McCool, which was a bit amusing. I'm amazed Layla didn't have to take the pinfall.

Claiming He Was Hacked

Hot on the heels on whining about WWE Superstars using his moves and trending on Twitter, Kurt Angle is claiming that somebody hacked his Twitter account. He claims he barely uses it, which, anybody who follows him knows, he's always tweeting about his Angle Foods business and taking time to answer to whatever road bump he's bumped into.

I personally don't buy this. Hackers aren't normally that consistent. I think perhaps a lot of people called him out for whining about it. Randy Orton did a decent job stating his opinion, and as a third generation Superstar, I'm sure Randy has enough knowledge to understand who got what from who.

Everybody claims that they got hacked when people post stuff on Twitter that is less than flattering to them and makes them look bad. It doesn't necessarily make it so. And really? Somebody hacked his Twitter to whine about WWE guys using moves? Maybe somebody was drunk tweeting and regretted it in the morning. Good grief.

Lighten Up!

Somebody was a little bitter last night.

Everyone knows by now that Kurt Angle was none too pleased to watch WrestleMania 27 and see Randy Orton Angle Slam CM Punk. He certainly wasn't too happy to see the Ankle Lock being used as well.

After posting a series of tweets (which you can follow him on Twitter at AngleFoods1), Randy Orton (which you can follow him on Twitter at RandyOrton) fired back, stating outright that Angle did not invent the Ankle Lock, as Ken Shamrock used it as his finisher before Kurt ever showed up in a professional wrestling ring. He also made a point that instead of being offended, Kurt should be flattered that people would do his moves as a show of respect to him.

I agree with Orton here. See, it would be a different story if Kurt was still in WWE, but he's not. I doubt Kurt is the guy who invented the Angle Slam, and I know for a fact Kurt was not the first in professional wrestling to use the ankle lock.

I like Kurt. Always have. He's a phenomenal talent. And, unfortunately at the moment he seems to have hit a road bump again in his life. But he really, really needs to lighten up.

So Glad To Have Her Back

Following up with news on the "Brunette Mafia", Diva-Dirt.Com has posted a recent interview with it's Diva Dirt Legacy award winner Trish Stratus, who is probably my all-time favorite Diva.

Trish Stratus announced that at first she was hesitant to do Tough Enough, citing that they weren't going to tell her who was involved. "The last time I said yes without knowing, I wound up with LaToya Jackson and Erik Estrada," she laughed, referring to the cancelled reality show Armed and Famous, where she took part as a police officer in Muncie, Indiana.

However, when she states that WWE told her Steve Austin would be hosting, she said that she was in.

Trish also professed to love LayCool, the team her and Jersey Shore cast member Snooki are facing at this Sunday's pay-per-view, especially citing Layla, as Divas who have come a long way and done great things in their career.

Better Bring It To Mania...

Everybody is reporting in shock that Snooki might actually be -- gasp -- taking to her wrestling training better than people thought for her upcoming match at WrestleMania.

Snooki told the Hollywood Reporter that she is a former gymnast and a cheerleader. That is definitely a bit of an advantage. Working with Trish Stratus should also be a big help.

It's also being said that there is still heat on her with WWE Management over her behavior at the filming for Monday's bar fight between her and Trish -- dubbed the "Brunette Mafia" -- and LayCool, where she apparently showed up hours late, drinking heavily and just exhibiting less-than-professional behavior.

However, WWE is willing to let the behavior slide as she is only contracted to appear until Sunday's pay-per-view. I guess with that behavior, there goes her shot at being a full-time Diva.

Don't say I didn't warn you, Snooki.

Not What WWE Had Hoped For?

RingsideNews.Com is reporting that the vignette on Monday that aired between LayCool, Trish Stratus and Snooki was not what the WWE had originally hoped for.

Apparently, WWE only used the best footage that they could get out of the filming, which lasted for hours longer than it should have because of reports that Snooki was drunk and was late by four hours to filming.

On a related note, the guy who was slapped out in the vignette was a guy who ironically sometimes wrestles as the brother of TNA star Robbie E.

Resurfaced!

At today's WrestleMania press conference, fans were surprised by the presence of WWE Executive Vice President of Creative and part-time WWE personality Stephanie McMahon-Levesque made an appearance hosting the press conference.

For those living under a rock, Stephanie is the daughter of Vince McMahon and the wife of WWE Superstar Triple H.

Interesting note as well, when Stephanie was welcoming everybody to the conference, fans began to chant "Hogan Sucks", to which Stephanie informed everyone that the 2005 WWE Hall of Famer would not have a part in this year's WrestleMania. Thank God for that.

Going To WrestleMania!

Making his second visit to the grand spectacle of WrestleMania is the one and only Snoop D-O-Double-G.

Snoop Dogg was last seen at WrestleMania 24 as the Master of Ceremonies in the Lumberjill tag match between Melina and Beth Phoenix and Maria Kanellis and Ashley Massaro, who stepped in for Candice Michelle after Candice re-broke her collarbone. He clotheslined Santino Marella and made out with Maria.

Interesting note here; WWE Superstar Brodus Clay actually worked as Snoop Dogg's bodyguard at one point, so that could be a pretty nice reunion for the two of them this Sunday in Atlanta.

Make A Wish Milestone

TMZ.Com is reporting about WWE today, and, believe it or not, it's actually great news.

The celebrity news website has announced that there will be thirty children from the Make A Wish Foundation coming to WrestleMania this weekend, from countries like Canada, the US and even Australia. They will be having a chance to meet with Superstars and Divas, along with a pizza party hosted by John Cena.

Also, John will be receiving something for doing this this weekend -- he will be receiving an award for passing the very impressive milestone of 200 wishes granted. It puts him only with three other people who have -- Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhart, Jr., and Hulk Hogan.

Congratulations to John Cena, who has been an incredible ambassador to the Make A Wish Foundation.

FINALLY!

Exciting news, ladies and gentlemen!

WWE alumni and movie star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is already in Chicago for the last Raw before WrestleMania!

PWInsider.com reports that Dwayne arrived last night and stayed at the same hotel as WWE crew. He was described as very approachable and very eager to hear what the fans want out of his return.

Rock will also be appearing on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight on Thursday evening to promote WrestleMania, along with probably Fast Five, which is due to come out in theaters on April 29th. It's being said that Rock will be carrying the WWE travel schedule this week, following the crew from Chicago to Atlanta.

I should also note that with Rock being a bit more open to wrestling one more match, WWE is now expecting it to happen. Just a matter of when and with who at this point, though I know John Cena wants a shot at him.

Snooki Being a Problem?

Multiple pro wrestling sites are reporting that WWE is having a less-than-stellar time with Snooki.

For those living under a rock, Snooki is set to team up with WWE Legendary Diva Trish Stratus and John Morrison to take on the team of Dolph Ziggler and LayCool, no doubt with Vickie Guerrero at ringside.

Anyways, for those who still don't know, over the past couple days, WWE filmed a bar-fight angle with LayCool, Trish and Snooki that is set to air this coming Monday on Raw.

However, multiple sites are reporting that Snooki delayed the filming for several hours, causing the shooting to go late. The multiple sites, citing sources, say that Snooki was drinking quite heavily through the day, being rude to the people in the bar, and claiming that once the Jersey Shore is finished, she is going to become a full-time WWE Diva.

I hate to tell Snooki this, but WWE doesn't take too friendly to this kind of behavior. It's been said WWE has had problems with Divas having bad behavior, including former Diva Tiffany. For anyone who doubts how WWE looks upon these things, just ask Serena Deeb.

America The Beautiful Singer Named

So it appears as though the WWE Universe will be lucky enough to have a Bieber-Free WrestleMania.

Despite reports going around stating that Bieber is in negotiations to sing "America The Beautiful" at this year's installment of WrestleMania, WWE Corporate's website has announced that R&B songstress Keri Hilson will be standing behind the microphone for this year's spectacular.

Keri Hilson is a talented singer-songwriter who has just released her latest album No Boys Allowed. She has written songs for the Pussycat Dolls ("Wait A Minute") and Britney Spears ("Gimme More"). She is also a frequent collaborator of hip hop super-producer Timbaland ("The Way I Are").

Keri will join the list of other musicians who have contributed their talents to Vince McMahon's grand spectacle, such as Nicole Scherzinger, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Michelle Williams, John Legend and former WWE ring announcer Lilian Garcia.

Angelina Whines Copycat

We have a bit of a wrestling-style Jersey Shore feud on our hands here in the form of short-term TNA Knockout Angelina Pivernack and Raw guest host/WrestleManie competitor Snooki.

Angelina (pictured in pink) is claiming that Snooki (pictured in red) is copying her by getting into a wrestling ring. She has outright accused Snooki of trying to copy everything that she does.

It should be interesting to note that JWoww is actually the first Jersey Shore cast member to show up in a wrestling ring, so I could only imagine what her feelings are on Miss Angelina's comments. Also, I have to admit, having a match at WrestleMania is a huge opportunity for Snooki and would attract more buyers. Snooki doesn't seem totally stupid; I'm sure she knows the opportunities that come with it. Angelina's segment on her last appearance of Impact happened to be the lowest rated segment on the show.

This is pretty useless news, but then again, it's a slow news day.

The WrestleMania 27 Card Thus Far

It's that time of the year. We are officially on the Road To WrestleMania 27!

This year, an interesting card is lining up, along with some interesting speculation on what matches could possibly be added before the big date of April 3. As of now, these are the following matches that are officially penciled in for the Grandest Event of Them All.

Former WWE Superstar and Hollywood movie star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is slated to host the event. He is going to be a wild card in the show, considering he seems to be feuding with Raw's main event.

The WWE Championship is on the line when WWE Champion Mike "The Miz" Mizanin takes on WWE's resident underdog John Cena.

The World Heavyweight Championship is on the line when Edge takes on 2011 Royal Rumble winner Alberto Del Rio.

WWE's Apex Predator Randy Orton is slated to face the leader of the New Nexus, CM Punk.

WWE's biggest underdog Rey Mysterio is set to face "Dashing Cody Rhodes".

And WWE Raw commentator Jerry "The King" Lawler is taking on Raw commentator Michael Cole. This past Monday we learned that WWE Hall of Famer "Stone Cold" Steve Austin will be the special guest referee, taking the job away from a returning JBL. Cole is currently being trained by Jack Swagger.

There is still a few weeks before the show is set to go on, and there is still more matches that are to be added, perhaps even the rumored Trish Stratus six-person intergender tag team match. Either way, this year, it's looking like a great card.

Is Trish Going To WrestleMania?

At the Elimination Chamber, the WWE Universe was stunned when returning Superstar/commentator/Tough Enough 2011 trainer Booker T announced that there was going to be another trainer joining him for the reinvigorated reality show that is slated to air the night after WrestleMania. That trainer, of course, is the lovely Diva pictured to my right, Trish Stratus.

For those living under a complete rock, Trish Stratus is a seven-time Women's Champion who officially retired from the WWE in 2006, after defeating her arch-enemy Lita in her hometown at Unforgiven. Trish retired as the Women's Champion, and had even gone so far as to main event Raw with Lita in December of 2004.

Trish has since found herself having problems with Michelle McCool and Layla (Team LayCool), and tomorrow night on Raw she is set to have a match with Vickie Guerrero to determine whether or not Vickie gets her job back with the WWE after being fired. I can see LayCool costing Trish the match, which would then lead to a WrestleMania bout. Several websites are reporting that Team LayCool could team up with Dolph Ziggler, who has since made his return from being fired on the Raw brand, to take on Trish, Kelly Kelly, who WWE seems to really be getting behind these days, and another male Superstar, potentially Drew McIntyre.

In Trish's last few appearances, it has been clear that she has been suffering from ring rust, having been busy with her upcoming role as Jules in the Canadian action film Bail Enforcers, and as the owner of a yoga studio called Stratusphere Yoga in Ontario. However, with her trainer's role on Tough Enough, which is already filming, and with this upcoming match with Vickie Guerrero, there is a very, very good chance that Trish is being prepped for a WrestleMania match. Hopefully, maybe her small appearance with the WWE can give the Divas division a boost that it so desperately needs.
